Hello there!
I’m Hannah Friedland, a Bay Area writer passionate about helping people and organizations use the power of language to realize their visions and leverage change. Through my writing, I support clients with strategic communications, brand identity, consumer-facing outreach, social media, ghostwriting and more to connect with their audiences, whether it’s a boardroom full of investors or a treasured family member.
With close to a decade of professional writing experience, I’ve worked for organizations and clients including Perennial Strategy, a brand strategy consulting firm, Power to Decide, a reproductive health non-profit, and Culdesac, a startup building the first car-free neighborhood from scratch in the US.
I honed my craft through an MFA in fiction at the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, where I was an Iowa Arts Fellow and received the Deena Davidson Friedman Award for Fiction. I draw from my liberal arts education at Williams College, where I graduated Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa with a BA in English and had the privilege of working on my Honors Thesis with National Book Award Nominee Jim Shepard.
In a world that often feels upside down, I find comfort in the continuity of language. We are all trying to connect, trying to find our way back to ourselves and each other. Words are our breadcrumbs home.
